Saw good reviews on Yelp so we thought we'd give it a try. Not a fancy place and the decor was nothing special, but the food was fantastic!
She had shrimp and crab, I had mussels and crab. Portions were large and all was cooked to perfection (and I used to cook in a Maine Lobster House).
Then there was the sauce! OMG the sauce! Both of us chose the boiling sauce and we used the mussel shells to scoop up every drop!
Would go again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend you try the Ugly Crab. -

We had a nice dinner here, but the entrance is pretty confusing. You order at the counter, take a number, then they bring the food to your table. They have a huge take-out business. We saw a ton of people popping in to carry out their food. Service was fine, but not particularly friendly or helpful. They seemed irritated that we didn't immediately understand their setup of how to order.
The prices were comparable to other seafood boiling places, as was the quality of the food and taste of the sauces.
The seating area was fine, but it felt really informal, with almost a fast food vibe. Definitely more of a friend hang out than date night spot. -

I've been there twice and loved it both times. The quality and freshness of the seafood is impressive for a non-coastal area.
In addition to the quality, you also get a lot of food. Definitely better than going to a chain seafood place. -

I love seafood and the Ugly Crab is a solid restaurant if your looking for crab, mussels, or shrimp. The staff is super friendly and helpful when your not sure what to order (because you want it all). I ordered hush puppies and the shrimp and mussel combo meal.

Our family LOVES seafood so we were excited to finally try The Ugly Crab. Cashier was really nice and explained how to order. You don't order at your table, you order at the counter. Fountain drinks are self serve and they have the BEST ice along with FREE refills. It's a family friendly environment, my son was in heaven.
It's pricey for some but I thought it was reasonable for what you get. The waitress also brings out croissants as a courtesy. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. If you love seafood check this spot out.
TIP: Thursdays and Sundays beer is $1.50. They are closed on Mondays.
